Video: New Footage of Over 1000 Surrendered Ukrainian Soldiers' Transfer
New footage has been released showing the transfer of over 1000 surrendered Ukrainian soldiers. The video was made public by military journalist Sladkov.
As previously reported, Major General Igor Konashenkov, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense, stated that marines had surrendered in Mariupol. “As a result of successful offensive operations by the armed forces of Russia and the militia units of the Donetsk People's Republic around the Ilyich Metallurgical Combine in Mariupol, 1026 Ukrainian servicemen from the 36th Brigade of Marines voluntarily laid down their arms and surrendered,” the general stated, as reported by Sputnik.
According to him, among the surrendered are 162 officers and 47 female soldiers. Konashenkov added that first aid was provided on the spot to 151 wounded servicemen from the 36th Brigade, after which all of them were taken to the Mariupol city hospital. The operator from the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK) filmed the surrender.
“One in three is injured, and one in ten has serious injuries,” Sladkov reported. It is reminded that on the early morning of February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided on a special military operation against Ukraine, as the LPR and DPR requested assistance. In a televised address to Russians, he stated that the circumstances demanded decisive and immediate action.
Combat operations in Ukraine have been ongoing for the 49th day now.
