We Must Understand What Awaits Us, We Are Entering a Difficult and New Phase: President of Artsakh

We must understand what awaits us; we are entering a difficult new phase related to the Russian-Ukrainian military operations, which could disrupt the region. This was stated by the President of the Republic of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, during a meeting with officials from the Askeran region.

“On March 24, Azerbaijan violated the November 9 agreement, and first and foremost undermined the peacekeepers' mission,” he said.

Harutyunyan indicated that the right to self-determination of the people of Artsakh has been and will remain the main guideline of the leadership of the Republic of Artsakh's foreign policy, and the official Stepanakert will not deviate from that agenda. “It is clear that the right to self-determination of the people of Artsakh is not subject to bargaining; we will not deviate from our path to independence,” he emphasized.

He also underscored that as a result of the Russo-Ukrainian war, a food crisis might arise and instructed the head of the Askeran region to intensify agricultural activities. “We need to pay serious attention to the production, storage, and redistribution of wheat and food products. All of this is on our agenda; we are not neglecting it,” said Arayik Harutyunyan.
