German President Steinmeier Confirms Kyiv Has Rejected His Visit to Ukraine
The President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, has confirmed that Ukraine's President Zelensky considers his visit to Ukraine undesirable.
According to Steinmeier, Polish President Andrzej Duda had suggested traveling to Ukraine together with the presidents of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
"I was ready for that, but... it should be noted that it was undesirable in Kyiv," Steinmeier said.
Earlier, it was reported that Ukrainian President Zelensky had refused to host German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Kyiv. The reason cited is Germany's close political ties with Russia.
