Red Cross Representatives Visit Armenian Detainees Held in Azerbaijan

Representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) have visited Armenian detainees held in Azerbaijan and facilitated communication with their families. This was reported by the ICRC's Armenian office.

“We have attempted to maintain regular contact through phone calls, recorded messages, and letters, and we will continue to do so as long as the individuals are in detention,” said Zara Amatuni, head of communication and prevention programs at the ICRC's Armenia office.

The ICRC does not disclose information about the conditions of detention, the treatment of detainees, or their health status, indicating that these matters are within the scope of confidential dialogue. According to Amatuni, the purpose of the visits is to monitor the welfare of the detainees.
