Massive Protests in Pakistan: Tensions Run High
Residents of Islamabad and Karachi have taken to the streets in Pakistan to protest against the government that has removed Prime Minister Imran Khan from office.
The political figure, who has not accepted his resignation, wrote on Twitter: "Never in our history have so many people taken to the streets rejecting the government led by fraudsters." It is noted that, according to international news reports, the opposition blames Khan's government for unchecked inflation, while Khan accuses opposition leaders of receiving funding from the United States to oust him and undertake actions against him.
Recall that the Pakistani parliament has passed a vote of no confidence against Prime Minister Imran Khan, removing him from his position. Soon, Pakistan will have a new leader, who, according to journalists, could potentially be Shahbaz Sharif, the leader of the opposition Pakistan Muslim League party.
