The Situation in Taghavard Remains the Same: Azerbaijanis Issue Appeals to Leave the Village in Armenian, Play Songs in Azerbaijani

Azerbaijanis are deliberately doing everything they can to make the residents of Taghavard leave their ancestral homes. To create a psychological depression among the population, the sounds of morning prayers are broadcast throughout the native Armenian village of Taghavard every day without exception, while Azerbaijani artillery fire occasionally disrupts the pleasant atmosphere of Taghavard.

“I can’t remember how long it has been since we wake up to the sounds of their morning prayers. It starts exactly at 5:50 AM. From 9:30 AM, they also play their songs. The loudspeakers are usually in vehicles moving from near our church to the secondary school. Both the Taghavard secondary school and the 18th-century church are located in the occupied part of the village. There, Azerbaijanis have dug trenches. Throughout the day, they move back and forth along the same route, repeatedly calling for people to leave the village, followed immediately by playing songs in Azerbaijani,” says Rudik Badasyan, a resident of Taghavard, in an interview with Factinfo.

The resident of the divided village assures that the provocations from the enemy do not affect the daily lives of the people of Taghavard at all; those who have land to cultivate are doing so, and those who do not are engaged in other work. The daily lives of children have not particularly changed; their voices can still be heard playing outside after school.

Several Azerbaijani channels are also accessible at Rudik Badasyan’s home. He states that he understands the enemy’s language well; sometimes, while changing TV channels, he stops to see what the enemy says about them.

Badasyan is convinced that being well-acquainted with the enemy's propaganda and deceit is essential to knowing both its weaknesses and easily countering its narratives.
