Sale of Oil Restricted in Great Britain

The British supermarket chain Waitrose has limited the sale of vegetable oil. According to 'RIA Novosti', this has been reported by the Daily Mail.

The British Waitrose supermarket chain has restricted the sale of oil due to the situation in Ukraine. Customers are urged to purchase a maximum of two bottles.

"We want to ensure that customers still have a choice of oil, so we ask everyone to purchase a maximum of two bottles," stated Waitrose in their announcement.

Another major supermarket chain, Sainsbury's, has posted signs in its stores warning shoppers that sunflower oil in some products may be replaced with rapeseed oil.

It is noteworthy that the largest producer of vegetable oil in Great Britain, Edible Oils, warned last week that the country has only a few weeks' worth of sunflower oil remaining for consumption.

Additionally, the prices of fruits and vegetables in Great Britain have risen by 30%. It is important to recall that earlier, a shortage of vegetable oil began in Turkey due to Russia's special operation in Ukraine.
