Pushkin Monument Dismantled in Ukrainian City

In the Ukrainian city of Ternopil, the city council has decided to dismantle the monument of Russian writer Alexander Pushkin. This was announced today by Mayor Sergey Nadal.

“The crimes committed by Russians against the Ukrainian people, including murders, torture of people, rape of women and children, and the destruction of Ukrainian cities, have cast a shadow on the entire culture of the Russian people. These crimes have no justification. They leave us no alternative. Everything Russian must be dismantled, including the monument of a Russian writer,” he wrote.

It is noteworthy that earlier this week, the Pushkin bust was dismantled in Mukachevo, and a plaque bearing his name was also removed from a local school.
