Video: 'We will continue to help you ensure border security' - Lavrov to Mirzoyan
The meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Russia, Ararat Mirzoyan and Sergey Lavrov, has commenced in Moscow, during which Lavrov stated that the Russian Federation will continue to support Armenia in strengthening its defense capabilities and securing its borders.
“We will continue to help you strengthen your defense capabilities and ensure border protection from the positions of Armenia's key ally,” Lavrov said.
The minister noted that the parties will also discuss perspectives for cooperation within the frameworks of the CIS, the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
He also mentioned that Moscow will continue to ensure the implementation of the trilateral agreements between the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia regarding Nagorno-Karabakh, including the operations of the Russian peacekeeping forces.
“There are three groups of agreements regarding the settlement of the Karabakh issue, which were reached at the highest level in November 2020, January 2021, and November 2021. And we will continue to ensure the implementation of these agreements, including the operation of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Nagorno-Karabakh in strict accordance with its mandate,” Lavrov stated.
