‘There has never been such a person who could pressure me,’ says Avan Deputy Mayor on reason for resignation

‘That’s how I wanted it; I am an unpredictable person, I always do such things.’ This was stated by Nerses Poghosyan in an interview with News.am, addressing the reason for his resignation as the Deputy Mayor of the Avan administrative district.

When asked whether he wrote the resignation letter under pressure, Poghosyan replied, ‘No one can pressure me; there has never been such a person who could pressure me, ever.’

Nerses Poghosyan noted that his decision to leave his position is not related to the recent controversial incidents involving him. It should be noted that during a recent search of Poghosyan’s home, law enforcement officials discovered a small quantity of hashish.

Earlier, a catheter was also found in his possession. ‘Yes, a catheter was found with me, but the reports circulating in the media that drugs were also found are not true. I was walking down the street, saw that catheter, and put it in my pocket so that it wouldn’t fall into the hands of any young person. The incident occurred during the intensified operations of the police,’ the deputy mayor stated in a previous interview, adding that the catheter was in an empty state.

When asked what he plans to do next, Poghosyan replied succinctly, ‘I will live my life.’
