Another Earthquake Hits Shirak Province
On April 5, at 13:27 local time (09:27 GMT), the seismic monitoring network of the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations registered an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.6. The epicenter was located 18 km southeast of the village of Ashotsk, at geographical coordinates of 40.92°N latitude and 44.02°E longitude, with a depth of 10 km. The intensity of the seismic tremor in the epicentral zone was measured at 3-4 on the Richter scale.
The earthquake was felt in the villages of Saragyugh and Bavra in Shirak Province, registering an intensity of 2-3.
It is worth noting that earlier today, at 10:43 (06:43 GMT), the seismic protection network recorded another earthquake in the border region between Georgia and Armenia, located 15 km east of the village of Bavra, with geographical coordinates of 41.15°N and 43.98°E and a magnitude of 2.4. The tremor intensity in the epicentral zone was measured at 3.
This second earthquake was felt in the village of Paghakhbjur in the Lori Province with the same intensity of 2-3.
