Under the Cleaner Position, a Cook Worked: Adventures in the Syunik Regional Administration

According to the Hayarap newspaper, after the appointment of Robert Ghukasian from Kalavan as the governor of Syunik, several violations have come to light. It has been revealed that under the guise of the cleaner position, a cook was employed for the previous governor Melikset Poghosyan and deputy governor Karo Avanesyan, preparing various dishes multiple times a day, allowing employees to indulge in the enticing aromas.

Ghukasian has abolished this tradition. It has also come to light that Avanesyan, who is originally from Goris but has been forced to live in rented accommodation in Kapan, traveled back to Goris on weekends, but this was officially documented as a business trip to Goris and surrounding communities by the governor's decision. The Syunik regional administration has provided us with about ten directives. For example, on March 6, 2021, a Saturday, Avanesyan was dispatched to the Aravus community; a week later, on the 13th, also a Saturday, he was dispatched for one day to the Tegh community; again a week later, on March 20, to the Goris community, and so on.

According to some information, a case regarding Karo Avanesyan is under investigation by the Anti-Corruption Committee. His wife, Armine Simonian, who is the assistant to the deputy governor, has not declared her property, and recently the couple has been summoned for questioning.
