«I will insist on being buried to the right of Brezhnev»: Zhirinovsky's wish remains unfulfilled

Vladimir Zhirinovsky's funeral will take place at Novodevichy Cemetery on Friday. This was reported by the press service of the State Duma.

We remind that on April 6, State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin announced that Russian politician and leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, had died after a long and serious illness.

Significantly, in an interview with RT television in 2020, Zhirinovsky addressed his burial, mentioning his preferred location: "I will insist that I be buried in Red Square, to the right of Brezhnev. Zyuganov will lie to the left of Brezhnev, and I will be to the right, as a person with more right-wing views than Brezhnev... Take me from the Column Hall in a howitzer to Red Square, beside Brezhnev, as the last fulfillment of my unfulfilled vanity. Since I did not reach what I wanted in life, then, probably, at least after death (I will achieve it)," Zhirinovsky had said.
