Kiev Hinders Today’s Planned Prisoner Exchange, Russian Agency Statement

On Wednesday, no prisoner exchange took place between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, with Moscow prepared to transfer 251 individuals to the Ukrainian side. This was stated by General Mikhail Mizintsev, head of the National Defense Management Center of the Russian Federation, according to Interfax.

“The authorities in Kiev are obstructing the previously agreed terms for the prisoner exchange. Today’s planned exchange has also been thwarted by the Ukrainian side,” Mizintsev said.

He noted that throughout the day, the list of exchanged servicemen had been clarified multiple times, with a subsequent reduction of 38 servicemen from it, and in the morning, the Ukrainian side again rejected the exchange without explanation.

“At the same time, the Russian Federation had fully prepared the 251 Ukrainian servicemen for the exchange, including their transfer to the designated area for the exchange,” he added.
