If Armenia Washes Its Hands of Artsakh, There Will Be No Other Option but to Join Russia

"Hraparak" newspaper writes: “Ahead of today’s meeting between Nikol Pashinyan and Ilham Aliyev in Brussels, active political consultations are taking place in the political arena of Artsakh in recent days, discussing upcoming developments and their actions. As is known, Azerbaijan is pressuring Pashinyan to sign the peace agreement based on its five-point proposal as soon as possible, which implies the final capitulation of Artsakh, placing it under Azerbaijani control.

If the document is signed in Brussels, as our sources report, it has been decided to initiate political processes in Artsakh immediately to integrate it into Russia. "If Armenia washes its hands of Artsakh and recognizes Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, then Artsakh will also be within Azerbaijan, and we will have no choice but to join Russia, so we will initiate a petition campaign," our source said, adding that the authorities of Artsakh have already received a ‘green light’ from the Russian side regarding this process.

As is known, on April 3, the first President of Armenia, Levon Ter-Petrosyan, met with the President of the Republic of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, at his residence. Generally, meetings with the first president involve both former and current leaders before decisive processes. Apparently, Arayik Harutyunyan went to seek advice from one of our time’s wisest politicians, Ter-Petrosyan.”
