Geggam Nazaryan: Reports Among Mothers That Funds Received From The Foundation Will Be Reclaimed If They Don't Attend Anna Hakobyan's Event

Member of the National Assembly from the 'Armenia' faction Geggam Nazaryan addressed concerns regarding the invitation of mothers of fallen soldiers to an event scheduled for April 7 during a Facebook live session.

“In recent days, mothers of heroes have been receiving calls from corresponding institutions—regional administrations, city hall, and community councils—inviting them to participate in some kind of event on April 7. I won't say who is extending the invitation; you all know well who the authors of that invitation are. However, each of those calls and invitations throws the mothers of the heroes into turmoil. Dear mothers, you decide whether to attend or not, but I have one request: regardless of whether some mothers decide to go to this event or not, please be reconciled with each other and refrain from insulting one another. The main purpose of all this is to divide the mothers,” said Nazaryan.

He noted that some mothers are coerced into accepting the invitation out of fear. “Various types of 'activists' are working among the mothers and spreading rumors that if you do not accept the invitation, the compensation you received after your son's death will be returned. They create the impression that the decision on compensation has been made by some individual. I want to emphasize that the foundation was established in 2017 and those funds are collected from our compatriots voluntarily,” he added.

Nazaryan urged mothers to calmly and without getting nervous inform the invitees about their reasons for their decisions.
