Zelensky on Potential Meeting with Putin: 'It May Happen That There Will Be No Meeting'
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has stated that Ukraine must continue negotiations with Russia despite the military crimes committed in Bucha. He admitted that his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin might not take place at all. Zelensky made this announcement during a meeting with Ukrainian journalists on April 5, as reported by korrespondent.net.
“It may happen that there will be no meeting,” said Zelensky.
Zelensky also referred to the events in Ukraine as genocide and emphasized that Russia should be held accountable for everything.
Speaking about security guarantees, the president noted that he has not yet received a list of countries committed to providing these guarantees, but it is already evident that various states are willing to offer different assurances. “So far, we have not received that list of guarantees or those specific countries. We need serious players who are ready for anything; we need a group of states that are ready to provide any weapon within 24 hours,” said the President of Ukraine.
According to him, a meeting with advisors from the guarantor countries could take place in the near future.
