VIDEO: The Accuser Is Mistaken, I Have Never Negotiated on Territorial Surrender - Serzh Sargsyan
I cannot deal with assumptions, said the third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, during a conversation with journalists at the opposition rally in Freedom Square, commenting on possible scenarios for the Pashinyan-Aliyev meeting.
“I do not think that any document will be signed tomorrow; of course, there are such dangers hanging in the air, but I do not think so,” said the president.
Commenting on the efforts to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in the past 30 years, Sargsyan noted, “Such conflicts cannot be resolved even in 30 years. We have done what we could, and we have brought the solution to this point. It is not our fault that certain people came and said they were starting from their point, that it is not our business what we negotiate and what we want, and we negotiated and reached this situation.”
When asked about accusations that he had negotiated on the surrender of territories, Sargsyan replied, “The accuser is mistaken; I have never negotiated on surrendering. I have negotiated about what we can obtain, and based on that, we were somewhat prepared for compromises.”
