There Are 2 Options: Either Eliminate Russia as a Source of War or Self-Destruct, Zelensky Addresses the UN
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed a United Nations Security Council meeting today. The main topic was the destruction wrought by Russian forces in the Kyiv region, particularly in Bucha.
Yesterday, Ukraine's Attorney General Iryna Venediktova stated that the situation regarding human casualties is actually worse not in Bucha, but in Borodyanka. Moreover, experts have only just begun working in other locations where the Russians have been.
In his speech, Zelensky specifically stated: “Now the main task is to transform the UN system. There are 2 options: either eliminate Russia as a source of war, or self-destruct. Ukraine, Europe, and the whole world need peace.
Some have been shot in the streets, some have been killed in their homes, some have been hit by tanks, some in their cars, women have been raped, and children have been killed. The world saw what happened in Bucha, and soon the world will also see what is going to happen in other cities and regions.
The UN supports the entire world. But the constitution has been violated for the first time, and if the primary institution is broken, then what use is the rest? The outcome of Russia's actions is the only terrifying chaos of all time. The Russian leadership sees itself as a colonial power, deliberately turning Ukrainians into silent slaves, robbing the elderly, stealing leadership, and throwing a lot of money at their ears. This must not be allowed, as it remains unpunished.
If the situation continues, foreigners will have no choice but to use only brute force, which will be unable to protect their security; the UN may simply cover itself up. Dear friends, are you ready to shut down the UN? If not, then act, as reform is necessary; the right to veto was not a right to death.”
This is the nature of the bold statements made by Volodymyr Zelensky in his speech.
