Russia Confirms Prisoner Exchange with Ukraine: How Many Prisoners Were Exchanged

The Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, Tatiana Moskalkova, has reported that a prisoner exchange has taken place between Russia and Ukraine in the format of 86 for 86. This was reported by the TASS agency.

She added that the exchange of four employees of 'Rosatom' who remained in Ukraine failed at the last moment.

On April 1, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Kyrylo Tymoshenko, announced that as part of the prisoner exchange, 86 servicemen, including 15 women, were handed over to the Ukrainian side.

It is noteworthy that on the morning of February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a special military operation for the demilitarization of Ukraine. In a televised address, he stated that the circumstances “demand decisive and immediate actions from us, the people’s republics of Donbas have appealed to Russia for assistance.” The Russian leader emphasized that all responsibility for the bloodshed would rest on the conscience of the regime in power in Ukraine. He called on Ukrainian military personnel not to follow the criminal orders of the Ukrainian authorities, to lay down their arms, and go home.
