Poland to Purchase 250 Abrams Tanks from the USA

Poland has signed an agreement with the United States to purchase 250 Abrams tanks, Reuters reports. The sale of Abrams tanks to Poland, where a future American missile defense facility is also located, is yet another sign of the deepening and growing defense relationship with the United States. This comes after the deployment of nearly 5,000 additional American troops to Poland, as well as the stationing of extra fighter jets, in response to the Ukrainian crisis.

Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Błaszczak announced that the deal is valued at approximately $4.75 billion, and the first tanks are set to be delivered this year.
