New Strategic Mechanism Between the US and Turkey
The US and Turkey are launching a strategic mechanism for cooperation between the two countries. This information comes from a statement published on the US State Department's website. In particular, it is noted that adhering to the commitments made by Presidents Biden and Erdoğan during their meeting in Rome in October 2021, the United States and Turkey initiated the US-Turkey Strategic Mechanism on April 4 in Ankara.
It is also mentioned that US Deputy Secretary of Commerce Marisa Lago will visit Ankara on April 5-6 to advance the economic and trade cooperation goals within the framework of the strategic mechanism.
“The US and Turkey eagerly anticipate a ministerial-level meeting within the framework of the Strategic Mechanism later in 2022,” the statement said.
