NATO Will Help Ukraine, But In This Way: Stoltenberg
The member countries of the North Atlantic Alliance intend to provide further assistance to Ukraine and supply ammunition. This was announced by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg during a press conference held in Brussels on Tuesday, according to TASS.
"The allies are committed to providing further support to Ukraine, including the supply of anti-tank weapons, air defense systems, and other equipment," Stoltenberg stated.
According to the Secretary General, NATO is providing military support to Ukraine to a degree that will not lead to a large-scale war between Russia and NATO.
"NATO's responsibility is to prevent escalation beyond the borders of Ukraine. That is why NATO is forced to make difficult decisions to provide assistance (to Ukraine) only in a manner that does not contribute to the conflict turning into a large-scale war between the nuclear power Russia and NATO. This is a reality that must be accepted," Stoltenberg said.
The NATO Secretary General believes that no member of the alliance will support sending troops to Ukraine.
"We will consider what else we can do to damage Russia, including sanctions, but I assume that no NATO country will support sending NATO troops to Ukraine," he concluded.
