Details of the 5th EU Sanction Package Against Russia Revealed
The European Union is preparing the fifth package of sanctions against Russia. This was reported by TASS.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced today that the new sanctions package includes:
- A ban on the entry of Russian ships and vessels operated by Russian operators into EU ports,
- Restrictions on automotive transport operators from Russia and Belarus,
- A complete prohibition on transactions involving four key Russian banks, including VTB, the second-largest Russian bank,
- A ban on coal imports valued at €4 billion per year from Russia,
- A €10 billion export ban on significant sectors including advanced semiconductors, machinery, and transport equipment,
- Targeted measures such as prohibiting Russian companies from participating in public procurement in the EU and excluding any financial support for Russian state bodies.
