Lavrov on Tortured Bodies Found in Bucha

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has described the situation in Bucha, Ukraine, as a "fake attack." According to him, a staged event occurred there, which was later disseminated across all channels and social networks in Ukraine and the West, as reported by TASS.

"Recently, another fake attack was carried out in the city of Bucha in the Kyiv region after Russian soldiers left the area following agreements reached. A few days later, a performance was staged, which spread through all channels and social networks by representatives of Ukraine and their Western sponsors," Lavrov stated during negotiations with UN Under-Secretary-General Martin Griffiths.

The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that Russian soldiers completely left the city on March 30. "On March 31, the mayor of Bucha solemnly declared that everything was fine, and two days later, we saw how a performance was being staged in the streets, which is now being used for anti-Russian purposes," Lavrov added.

Lavrov pointed out that Moscow views the situation in Bucha as a provocation threatening international peace and security and is demanding that Britain, which currently holds the presidency of the UN Security Council, organizes a meeting on this topic.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday that the Russian armed forces had completely left Bucha on March 30 and that "evidence of crimes" only appeared on the fourth day, when employees of the Security Service of Ukraine arrived in the area. The ministry also highlighted that on March 31, Mayor Anatoly Fedoruk confirmed in his video address that there were no Russian soldiers in Bucha, without mentioning the shot and tortured local residents found in the streets.

It should be noted that Associated Press journalists have documented at least 21 bodies in one of the suburbs of the Ukrainian capital. The bodies, with bound hands, gunshot wounds at close range, and signs of torture, were scattered in Bucha after Russian soldiers left the area. Ukrainian authorities have accused Russian forces of committing war crimes.
