Who Will Be Appointed Minister of Emergency Situations?
After the arrest of Minister of Emergency Situations Andranik Piloyan, the authorities are now considering who will take over his duties or whether to appoint a minister outright. According to the newspaper "Zhoghovurd," the perspective within the Ministry of Emergency Situations is that while former My Step deputy and a founding member of the Civil Contract party, Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Pambukhchyan is not a bad individual and a team player, he does not possess a comprehensive or deep understanding of the sector.
“In contrast to Pambukhchyan, the other deputy minister Ara Nazaryan has a good grasp of the system, so to speak, and is one of the personnel from Davit Tonoyan’s time, having undergone training since then,” informed a source close to the ministry to the media outlet.
Despite the opinion and desire among more experienced, traditional staff within the Ministry of Emergency Situations to see Nazaryan as the minister, the ruling Civil Contract party has a different decision. According to information from "Zhoghovurd," the ministerial position of Emergency Situations will nevertheless be entrusted to Armen Pambukhchyan. Recall that he had previously resigned from his deputy mandate in the 7th convocation parliament and was assigned to the Ministry of Emergency Situations with the goal of eventually holding the ministerial position.
Yesterday, the newspaper attempted to contact Pambukhchyan to hear his views on the matter, but his phone was turned off throughout the day.
