Russia Conducts Exercises with Intercontinental Yars Missiles
Exercises of the Strategic Missile Forces have begun in Russia. The "Tagil" missile unit, equipped with "Yars" mobile ground-based missile systems, is participating in the drills in the Sverdlovsk region, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
It is noteworthy that the RS-24 "Yars" is a Russian solid-fuel intercontinental ballistic missile developed by the Moscow Institute of Thermal Engineering. The "Yars" is set to replace the RS-18 and RS-20 intercontinental ballistic missiles and will form the backbone of the Russian Strategic Missile Forces alongside the Topol-M missile system.
Earlier, President Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that no one in Russia is discussing the idea of using nuclear weapons in Ukraine.
