VIDEO: How Azerbaijanis Invaded Parukh. Pashinyan Explains

Azerbaijan, realizing that the Nagorno-Karabakh issue is present and becoming more pronounced in the international agenda, is attempting to close the Nagorno-Karabakh question, and this operation has begun from the village of Parukh in the Askeran region, which tends to continue. This was announced by Nikol Pashinyan during a government meeting.

According to him, the events in Parukh indicate that the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh needs protection, otherwise it will become a victim of genocide.

“The Parukh crisis has arisen as a result of violations of agreements. To ease the escalating situation in the region, an agreement was reached to mirror withdraw a number of positions from the Parukh-Khramort segment, and this was to be guaranteed by the Russian peacekeeping contingent. Several Armenian positions were withdrawn, and the Russian peacekeepers were deployed in the specified area, but right before their eyes, Azerbaijanis invaded the area under the responsibility of the peacekeepers. We sadly note this, and despite the clear statements from the Russian Defense Ministry, the USA, France, and the UN, the invasion of Azerbaijani military units into Nagorno-Karabakh continues today within the area of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping contingent,” said Nikol Pashinyan.

He announced that he expects the Russian peacekeepers to take specific steps to remove Azerbaijani units from the peacekeepers' area of responsibility and to restore the status quo as recorded in the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020.

“We also expect that the actions or possible inaction of the peacekeeping contingent during and after the invasion will be subject to proper scrutiny,” he said.
