Important Change in the Compulsory Insurance System

Facebook user Andrey Misakyan wrote: “There was a problematic point in the compulsory insurance amendments, which stated that if you had driven a taxi before, you would always be obliged to insure your vehicle under the taxi or rental rate, even if you are driving it for personal use now; you still had to insure it expensively as if it were under taxi or rental.”

“In response to numerous driver complaints, and with my appeal and the efforts of Tigran Keyan, president of the 'Driver's Friend' NGO, the Bureau Council unanimously voted in favor of amendments, and that point will be reconsidered. If a driver submits a written request to the insurance company and declares that the vehicle is currently being used for personal purposes, the compulsory insurance rate will be reassessed. I will provide additional information once the decision is in effect.”
