Nver Mnatsakanyan's Son Among the Accused: 'Hraparak'

According to 'Hraparak', the Anti-Corruption Committee has published charges against Emergency Situations Minister Andranik Piloyan, with 9 defendants and 10 suspects including the minister’s advisor and heads of departments involved. There is an impression that a real gang operated within the Ministry of Emergency Situations, a criminal group led by the minister.

Part of the charges pertains to the head of the Material and Technical Supply Department of the Rescue Service, M. M., and another department head, V. M., who allegedly organized a fraudulent process for rewarding several employees of the MES in October 2021. After this, using their official positions and with the aid of those individuals who received the rewards, they obtained and embezzled the amounts of monetary awards meant for them.

It turns out that Mher Mnatsakanyan, the son of the well-known commentator and host Nver Mnatsakanyan, is implicated. The employees of the Rescue Service who did not receive bonuses are drivers who complained that they were not paid. We contacted Nver Mnatsakanyan, and he stated, 'My son has done nothing. When you have the entire indictment in your hands, you can talk.'

An individual close to the Ministry mentioned that the drivers were promised payment for transporting certain cargo, but they were not compensated. Mher Mnatsakanyan is also accused of having coordinated the technical specifications of a competition scheduled for 2022 with a potential participant, thereby attempting to ensure that only that particular company would have the opportunity to participate and win the competition.

Moreover, the senior official from the MES who authorized the results of the competitions with his signature is the minister’s deputy, the ruling party's Armen Pambukhchyan, who is also the main candidate for the position of Minister of Emergency Situations.
