Cavuşoğlu: Turkey Will Not Send Military Personnel to Ukraine

Turkey is not planning to send its military personnel to Ukraine, said Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, according to TASS.

“Ukraine's request for Turkey to be a guarantor demonstrates trust in Turkey. Comments regarding Turkey sending its military are not based on reality,” he emphasized.

Recall that on the morning of February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a special military operation for the demilitarization of Ukraine. In a televised address, he stated that circumstances “demand decisive and immediate actions” as the Donbas republics have requested assistance from Russia.

According to the Russian leader, all responsibility for the bloodshed will fall on the conscience of the regime currently in power in Ukraine. He called on Ukrainian soldiers to disregard the criminal orders of the Ukrainian authorities, to lay down their arms, and return home.

In response, the West has imposed new anti-Russian sanctions. This includes several major banks, such as Sberbank and VTB. The European Union, the United States, Canada, and several other countries have closed their airspace to Russian aircraft. The ability of several state-owned companies to attract foreign capital has become more difficult. Sanctions have also been imposed on the supply of high-tech goods to Russia.
