Video: Snipers at the Venue of Russian-Ukrainian Negotiations
In Istanbul, security measures have been intensified ahead of the negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv. It is expected that security forces will close the streets when delegations arrive at the Dolmabahçe presidential palace, and snipers are monitoring the building.
This was reported by a correspondent from RIA Novosti at the scene. The meeting is planned to start at 10:30 AM (11:30 AM Yerevan time).
Before the negotiations between the representatives of Moscow and Kyiv, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is expected to meet with each delegation separately. Reporters have already gathered near the Dolmabahçe Palace, awaiting the arrival of the meeting participants and the head of state.
According to the Turkish leader's diplomatic office, Presidents Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan have discussed the meeting of Russian and Ukrainian representatives by phone.
The first negotiations between the delegations from Moscow and Kyiv took place on February 28 in the Gomel region of Belarus. Subsequently, representatives from Russia and Ukraine met on March 3 in the Belovezhskaya Pushcha and on March 7 in the Brest region.
In mid-March, it was decided to hold daily meetings in an online format.
