Icy Roads and Difficult Accessibility: Situation in Armenia
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there are closed and difficult-to-access roads across Armenia.
The following roads are currently closed: the road from Ttujur to Navur in the Tavush region, the roads leading from the 'Amberd' high altitude meteorological station in Aragatsotn region to Amberd Fortress and Kharij Lake, and the roads leading from the H21 highway to the villages of Berkarat and Vardablur.
The Vardenyats Pass is closed to trucks with trailers and difficult to navigate for other types of vehicles.
Due to damage to a bridge in the section of the M3 highway from Lusagyugh to Eraskhahun, this section is closed to trucks; an alternative route via Aknashen-Gai-Metsamor-Jrarat is operational.
The roads in the Lori region from Urasar to Katnagghbyur and from Alaverdi to Jiliza are difficult to access.
There are also icy conditions on the roads in the Aragats region of Aragatsotn.
According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia's North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Larsi road is open.
Drivers are advised to use winter tires exclusively.
