What You Need to Know When Entering Armenia
The State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia informs that when transporting personal goods across the customs border of the Eurasian Economic Union, a two-way customs control system is applied. Individuals can independently choose between the 'red' and 'green' channels.
The transported goods must be intended for the personal, family, household, and other needs of individuals, unrelated to business activities.
Without payment of customs duties and taxes, the following personal use goods can be imported into the EAEU customs area by air transport (per individual):
- Accompanied and unaccompanied luggage items (excluding ethyl alcohol, alcoholic beverages, and beer), with a value not exceeding the equivalent of 10,000 euros and a weight not exceeding 50 kg, including tobacco and tobacco products with the following allowances: 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars (cigarillos), or 250 grams of tobacco, or the total weight of the mentioned products must not exceed 250 grams.
- Alcoholic beverages and beer: up to 3 liters. It is important to note that when importing alcoholic beverages and beer in quantities exceeding 3 liters but not exceeding 5 liters, a customs duty of 10 euros applies for each liter exceeding the established norm.
Importation of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products is permitted only for individuals over the age of 18.
Cash and travel checks can be transported without the payment of customs duties and taxes, regardless of their value and weight. However, if the total amount exceeds the equivalent of 10,000 US dollars when importing or exporting once into or from the EAEU customs territory, they must be declared according to the exchange rate in effect on the day of submitting the customs declaration.
Monetary instruments, except for travel checks, are subject to customs declaration regardless of the transported value.
It is essential to remember that if the cash and monetary instruments in a single transfer exceed the equivalent of 100,000 US dollars at the exchange rate in effect on the day of submitting the passenger customs declaration, the individual must also provide documents confirming the origin of those funds.
Stay informed.
