Man Threatens Wife, Assaults Her with Iron and Flower Pot: Criminal Case Launched

Roland M. intentionally struck his wife, R. H., 2-3 times in the face during an argument over household matters on July 29, 2021, around 18:00. This information was provided by the legal information system “Datalex.”
The case was submitted to the court on December 28, 2021, and assigned to Judge Manvel Shahverdyan of the Yerevan City First Instance General Jurisdiction Court.
According to the accusatory conclusion, the man caused a closed craniocerebral injury to the woman in the form of a hematoma on the lower eyelid of her left eye. Furthermore, on August 13, 2021, during another argument over household issues, Roland M. threatened his wife with a bat, claiming he would kill her, creating a real danger of carrying out these threats.
It is noted that R. H. perceived these threats as real, which caused her fear, anxiety, and concern for her safety. Following this, she pushed an iron that was on the table towards her husband, which hit his hand, resulting in him feeling physical pain and inflicting injury on her. Subsequently, he struck her on various parts of her body, particularly 2-3 times in the face, causing her physical injury and pain.
After the incident, on August 20, 2021, around 09:00, during another argument regarding household matters, Roland M. told R. H. that he would kill her that day, that it was her last day, after which he threw a speaker and a flower pot at her, hitting her right hand and causing injuries and physical pain.
Roland M. has been charged under Article 117 (intentional infliction of minor harm to health) and Article 118 (beating) of the RA Criminal Code. A measure of restraint has been chosen for him: a signature not to leave.
