Extraordinary Incident in Yerevan: Man Assaults Female Police Officer, Victim Hospitalized

On March 27, an extraordinary incident occurred in Yerevan. Around 1:30 PM, officers from the 2nd battalion of the 2nd company of the Patrol Service of the RA Police stopped a Mercedes vehicle with license plate 09 VO 999 near 106/5 Davit Bek Street for lacking a technical inspection.

According to Shamshyan.com, when the patrol officers approached the vehicle, they asked the driver to present his driver's license. However, two individuals exited the vehicle and, without any provocation, began to hurl insults at the officers. One of them then physically assaulted a young female officer and obstructed the legal activities of the patrol.

According to G. Shamshyan, officers from the Patrol Service and personnel from the Erebuni division of the police arrived at the scene and detained the individuals involved.
The individuals are residents of Yerevan, identified as 51-year-old Andranik G. and 51-year-old Misha S.

An investigation is underway at the Erebuni Police Department regarding the incident. The investigator has ordered a forensic medical examination. Andranik G. has been arrested, while Misha S. has been released.

According to reports from the scene, the female officer has been transferred to the “Erebuni” medical center with a diagnosis of soft tissue contusion of the right forearm and wrist.
