More Than 10,000 Hectares of Forest Burning in the Chernobyl Zone
A fire has broken out in the Chernobyl zone due to ongoing military operations. As of September 27, the blaze has engulfed more than 10,000 hectares of forest. In the vicinity of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, 31 fires have erupted. These incidents have the potential to create high levels of radioactive contamination in the air.
