«Targeted Gunfire Is Being Fired at Villages, People's Homes»: Tatoyan

Today, I have submitted written facts to the offices of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights. This was stated by former Armenian Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan on his Facebook page.

“Today, I submitted written facts to the offices of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, including the discussion about the fact that Azerbaijani armed forces in Artsakh are: 1) systematically targeting villagers and people's homes with gunfire as part of a coordinated policy. 2) Forcing people to leave their homeland and settlements under the threat of force, resulting in psychological terror against peaceful residents. 3) Intentionally depriving the entire Artsakh of gas, heating, and hot water, affecting over 100,000 peaceful residents, hospitals, schools, kindergartens, and institutions for children and the elderly. They have installed locks to subject people to blackmail. 4) These acts and invasions have created new forcibly displaced peaceful residents by endangering the security of settlements. They are doing everything to prevent the restoration of peaceful life in these areas. 5) Today, two servicemen of the Artsakh Defense Army have already been killed and several others wounded, who protect peaceful residents from Azerbaijani criminal acts, and so on.

These facts substantiate the genocidal policy of Azerbaijan in Artsakh. It is especially important to keep international attention focused on what is happening in Artsakh and not to allow the isolation from the outside world. Human rights and people's safety cannot be neglected; the Azerbaijani authorities are implementing their genocidal policy precisely through the isolation of Artsakh,” wrote Tatoyan.
