Situation in Nagorno-Karabakh Remains Tense, Armenian Foreign Ministry Issues Statement

The Armenian Foreign Ministry has issued a statement regarding the ongoing incursion of Azerbaijani Armed Forces into Nagorno-Karabakh.

"The Azerbaijani incursion, which began on March 24 in the area of Parukh village in the Askeran region, continues within the area of responsibility of the Russian Federation's peacekeeping force. The encroaching Azerbaijani units opened fire on the positions of the Defense Army during the previous night. The situation in Nagorno-Karabakh remains tense. We expect that the Russian Federation's peacekeeping forces will take measures to ensure the immediate withdrawal of the encroaching Azerbaijani units from the area of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, which should mean the return of Azerbaijani units to their positions as of March 23," the statement reads.
