Since the Russian Troops Entered Artsakh, the Armenian Side Has Withdrawn from Responsibility: Babayan

The Karaglukh height holds strategic importance and should not be given to the opponent. This was stated by Samvel Babayan, the former secretary of the Security Council of Artsakh, in a conversation with journalists, as reported by tert.am.

‘In general, surrendering any position in Askeran makes it easier to reach Stepanakert. The situation is overall resolvable; we need to negotiate on the spot through Russian forces,’ Babayan emphasized.

When asked what would happen after losing the Karaglukh height, Babayan replied, ‘Nothing will happen; the Armenian side will demand that the Russian side return it because it was at their suggestion that the positions were vacated.’

Babayan also noted that since the Russian troops entered Artsakh, the Armenian side has withdrawn from responsibility. He added that about a week ago, following provocations by Azerbaijanis in Khramort, under the suggestion of the Russian side, the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides removed their positions in Parukh.
