Prayer for Russia in Schools Needed, Suggests Medinsky

Vladimir Medinsky, an advisor to Russian President Vladimir Putin and head of the Russian delegation in negotiations with Ukraine, has proposed that all schools in the country start the day with a prayer for Russia, similar to the practice in the United States.

“In the United States, the school day has started with a short prayer for America, its symbols, and its flag for 150 years in all public and private schools. We should adopt a tradition of praying for our country, its state symbols, and its flag,” Medinsky stated.

He emphasized that prayers should commence in schools starting today, and measures should be taken to enshrine this in law. The Russian Ministry of Education has announced its readiness to discuss the proposal.
