The 'Armenia' Faction Issues a Statement
The 'Armenia' faction has issued a statement regarding the situation in Ukraine, which is presented below.
1. The 'Armenia' faction expresses its concern and anxiety about the events unfolding in Ukraine. The created situation is a result of ignoring the fundamental principle of the indivisibility of security, while concurrently applying obvious double standards within the realm of international law.
2. The faction emphasizes the importance of any act related to the realization of the right to self-determination. Attempts to obstruct the exercise of the right to self-determination through oppression typically lead to armed conflict and war. It is also from this perspective that the right of the people to self-determine in their historical homeland and to reunite with a state that is part of this historical homeland is considered inviolable and beyond questioning, and the application of the 'recognition for salvation' guarantee is highlighted in all similar situations.
3. The faction considers the rising anti-Russian phenomena in certain countries unacceptable and strongly condemns any manifestations of discrimination based on national and racial affiliation. Such a policy is entirely deviating from and contradicting the values adopted and universally proclaimed since the mid-20th century.
4. It notes that the unprecedented forms and scope of political and economic sanctions will not contribute to resolving the crisis but will lead to a new global economic crisis, a new 'Iron Curtain,' the consequences of which could be catastrophic for many countries and lead to a sharp increase in poverty levels.
5. The faction is hopeful that peace and stability will be reestablished in Europe in the shortest possible time. The Russian and Ukrainian peoples will be able to find acceptable solutions for living peacefully and safely through genuine negotiations.
6. We demand that the authorities of Armenia do everything possible to provide support to Armenians living in Ukraine, especially the elderly, women, and children, including addressing issues related to evacuation to Armenia and ensuring their livelihoods.
