Doctors Remove Metal Pendant from 4-Year-Old's Esophagus

Doctors at the Holy Mother of God Medical Center have removed a metal pendant from the esophagus of a 4-year-old child. This was reported by the medical center.

“This issue occurs quite frequently. Children unknowingly put various items in their mouths, some of which end up in the esophagus. We encounter about 40-50 similar cases at the medical center each year. Items found in children's esophagi include coins, jewelry, remnants of toys, and even needles, pins, and sewing needles. We urge parents to be vigilant, as items lodged in the esophagus can have serious consequences for the child and their life,” the statement noted.
