Supreme Court Ruling on the 'Kanakertsi Tuy's Case

A complaint has been filed with the Supreme Court of Armenia regarding the release of one of the individuals arrested in the murder case of 'Kanakertsi Tuy.' According to Armlur.am, the court has rejected the Supreme complaint relating to the murder case.

What was the demand? As is known, about a month ago, Hakob Simonyan, son of 61-year-old former MP Artyush Simonyan, who was arrested in connection with the murder case, was released from custody. This circumstance has infuriated Tuy's relatives, who have filed a complaint with the Supreme Court against the release of the murdered MP’s son. Thus, the Supreme Court has rejected the appeal from the defense, meaning that the son of the deceased former MP will continue to remain free.

Recall that on November 11, shots were fired in one of the private houses in Kanaker, leading to the death of four individuals, while three others were hospitalized with various bodily injuries. Among the deceased was criminal authority Kanakertsi Tuy, also known as Arthur Ghazaryan, and the former MP Artyush Simonyan.

Among the injured is the son of the murdered former MP, Vladimir Simonyan. Following the shooting, the investigative body arrested the sons of the deceased MP, including Hakob Simonyan, who was recently released.

According to information obtained by ArmLur.am, the entire law enforcement system is astonished by how such a minor issue resulted in the ruined fates of four individuals. The core of the issue is that the investigative body has clear data regarding the reasons behind the gunfire. One of the sons of former MP Artyush Simonyan reported to his father that Tuy and his team were regularly bothering and harassing him.

As a result, Artyush Simonyan invited the criminal authority Tuy to his residence to understand what was happening with his sons and why they were facing troubles or frequently saying that the criminal authority was harassing them. Tuy accepted the former MP's invitation to visit his house.

Initially, they decided to sit in the booth for a conversation, but due to heavy snow, they did not stay there. After convincing Arthur Ghazaryan to remain for a discussion, Tuy refused to stay, getting to the cars with others when the gunshots rang out.

It should be noted that the shots were fired right at the former MP’s house. It is noteworthy that Artyush Simonyan was elected as a member of parliament in 2003 from the Kanaker-Zeytun administrative district.
