Statement of the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the Situation in Artsakh

The supply of natural gas from Armenia to Artsakh has once again been disrupted due to the apparent interference from the Azerbaijani side near the city of Shushi, in an area under Azerbaijani control. Thus, in the face of unprecedented snowfall and harsh weather conditions, around 120,000 residents of Artsakh have been deprived of vital gas supplies.

Just a few days ago, Azerbaijan had prevented repair work on a damaged gas pipeline in the same area for 8 consecutive days under unclear circumstances. Therefore, in addition to its ongoing actions aimed at psychologically pressuring the population of Artsakh and obstructing the entry of international humanitarian organizations into the region, Azerbaijan is deliberately disrupting the normal functioning of critical infrastructure in Artsakh, which evidently leads to the creation of a humanitarian crisis.

We consider this blatant policy of systematic violence against the people of Artsakh unacceptable. The situation necessitates a clear response from the international community to prevent the humanitarian crisis, as well as the immediate and unhindered involvement of international humanitarian organizations in Artsakh.
