Italy Freezes 800 Million Euros in Assets of Russian Oligarchs
Italy has frozen over 800 million euros worth of assets belonging to Russian oligarchs who are under EU sanctions. This was announced by Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, according to Armenpress.
"The sanctions that we have coordinated with our partners aim to force the Russian government to cease hostilities and seriously and sincerely sit at the negotiating table. To Russia, which wanted to divide us, we have demonstrated the unity of both the EU and NATO. These sanctions would deal a heavy blow to the Russian economy, financial markets, and the personal fortunes of those closely aligned with President Putin. In Italy, we have frozen the assets of oligarchs listed by the EU amounting to over 800 million euros," he stated during a speech in the Chamber of Deputies following a video conference with Volodymyr Zelensky, as reported by RIA Novosti.
