“No Spontaneous Structures Will Be Legalized in Yerevan,” Says Hrachya Sargsyan

During a routine working meeting, Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan addressed ongoing incidents and calls received via the hotlines, urging residents once again to refrain from illegal activities stating, “No spontaneous structures will be legalized in Yerevan.”

Frequent complaints from citizens in the capital are often related to stray animals. Presenting the newly appointed director of the “Stray Animal Disarmament Center” SNCO, Armen Begoyan, the mayor has instructed the team to document existing issues and prepare relevant reports to provide comprehensive solutions.

Non-functional advertising panels will be dismantled from the streets of Yerevan. Inventory work has been completed in all administrative districts, and the process will commence on April 1.

Construction works for external lighting networks in non-illuminated streets have begun in the Arabkir and Shengavit administrative districts according to subsidy agreements.

Delays related to the issuance of completion acts and construction permits are often linked to the mayor's busyness and his failure to sign them. Addressing this phenomenon, Mayor Sargsyan stated that the information does not correspond to reality. He also noted that there are indeed issues regarding the workload related to the issuance of construction permits, prompting the municipality to initiate structural changes in the architecture and urban planning department to provide quality services to citizens.

Three more halls of the Shengavit Complex Children and Youth Sports School in Yerevan will be renovated, with work scheduled to begin in 2023. It has been instructed to announce a competition for the design of the gyms' renovation this year.
