Cavusoglu Reveals the Points on Which Russia and Ukraine Have Reached Agreement
Turkish Hurriyet editor Ahmet Hakan spoke with Turkey’s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu about the Russia-Ukraine conflict and provided some details in Hurriyet.
In the conversation with Ahmet Hakan, Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu stated that the parties have reached an agreement on the first points of the 6 points proposed by the Russian Federation. “There are agreements in the positions of both parties on important issues. However, some points need to be agreed upon by the heads of state. If the parties do not retreat from their current positions, we hope for a ceasefire. If the parties come to an agreement, a meeting between Zelensky and Putin is possible,” emphasized Cavusoglu.
It should be noted that the six points mentioned by Cavusoglu were previously announced by the spokesperson for the Turkish president, Ibrahim Kalin. According to him, the six points are:
- Ukraine renounces membership in NATO and becomes neutral.
- Disarmament and receiving mutual security guarantees.
- Ukraine renounces Nazism.
- Restrictions on the use of the Russian language in Ukraine are lifted.
- The status of Donbas.
- The status of Crimea.
