‘There was a disgraceful action in Gyumri yesterday.’ - Gohar Hayrapetyan
Journalist and host Gohar Hayrapetyan wrote on her Facebook page: 'There was a disgraceful action in Gyumri yesterday. At Gymri’s Russian school No. 19, children were forced to form the letter Z to express their support for Russia. There are also screenshots of a letter from one of the students. As far as I understand, this school has children of Russian soldiers, but there are also many Armenians. Just days ago in Russia, sick children were also made to stand in a Z formation in similar circumstances. If you don't know, let me clarify that such places are where terminally ill children come to die under the doctors’ supervision. Dying children on the snow... a performance... in the cold. As a journalist, as a mother, as a citizen of Armenia, I strongly condemn the dragging of our children into dirty political games and the brazen exploitation of this phenomenon. I demand that the relevant authorities thoroughly investigate this matter. P.S. Regarding what you call Bandera-ism, do you know that Stepan Bandera is the Garagin Nzhdeh of the Ukrainians? This means you are ready for tomorrow in Armenia anyone defending the country’s interests to be labeled as Nzhdehism? I call upon parents to be vigilant, to warn children that if they ever decide to conduct such a political action using minors at their school, they should immediately call their parents and us, the journalists. This applies to any type of action, whether in support of Russia or in support of Ukraine. It doesn’t matter. Children are not a mass for political actions.'
Auroranews contacted Gyumri’s school No. 19. The principal’s assistant answered our call and stated that she was not aware if such an action had taken place or not. She also added that we could call back in half an hour to speak with the principal and receive the answer from him directly.
