New Platform to Replace Instagram in Russia
Russia plans to soon launch the "Rossgram" social network, which will serve as an analog to the blocked Instagram in the Russian Federation. This information was reported by the news outlet "Spletnik.ru".
Details about the new platform have already appeared on its official website. The developers of "Rossgram" are entrepreneurs Kiril Filimonov and Alexander Zobov, who describe themselves as former classmates of Pavel Durov, the co-founder of VKontakte and the founder of Telegram.
The Russian analog of Instagram is set to be released on March 28, 2022, with standard functionality and mobile applications for both Android and iOS. "Rossgram" will also provide additional monetization tools for users, including paid access to content, crowdfunding features, referral programs, and more.
“Right now, you have the opportunity to become one of the first users with special privileges. Initially, access will be open for top bloggers and partners. Access for regular users will be available in April 2022,” the new platform's website states.
